Happy Birthday Benjamin!!

I forgot to post some videos I took of Ben on his birthday.

Here's me pregnant with Ben... (by the way, that's not my Dr. Pepper I'm holding. It was Troy's.)

And here is Benjamin when he was born...

For Ben's Birthday, I made a number 3 cake...

Also, here is a picture of Ben after he found my swimming goggles...

And, here is Ben and daddy laying down together watching Toy Story... his favorite movie!

Well, the videos aren't working. I'll try again later.

It's sad news... and official now

So, since last month, I've been training for another 1/2 marathon. I was getting pretty excited about this one. It is the Utah Valley Marathon and it looks to be a great run!

Well, everything seemed to be going well until last weekend. I started getting this horrible pain in my toe. I decided to go get it checked out at my family doctor to see if there was something really the matter with it or if I just needed to suck it up and deal with the pain.

Turns out, I have a bunion. This bunion is very painful. I saw my podiatrist and he recommended me getting some orthotics for my shoes for my race. He told me that eventually, I needed to get surgery to correct this problem or else I just need to get use to this pain. I was going to deal with it until...

This last weekend, I don't know what happened but my toe got MUCH worse! I was in pain all weekend and it was miserable.

With the big decision, I decided to not race in June. I need to get surgery done NOW. I went to the doctor and got some pain medication and they are working wonderful! My surgery is scheduled for May 5th.

Hopefully, there is another race in August that I might sign up for. That would be fun to do again. This is the same race that I did last year.

So, here's to a successful surgery and a speedy recovery!

Happy 5TH Birthday Ryan!

Wow! My baby is 5 today!! I can't believe that all these years have gone by. I'm not going to say that they went by fast, because they didn't. They have been challenging. But, I wouldn't trade them for anything.

Here is me 2.5 weeks before having Ryan...

And here is Ryan brand new...

Today, we went to Chuck e Cheese. Ryan has been excited all week to go. I was actually really excited too because this year is the first time when he really understood what is going on and that he was turning 5. Here he is playing his car game at Chuck e Cheese...

So, I attempted to make him a cake but it kind of fell apart on me. I did the best I could...

Here we all are singing Happy Birthday to him! He actually blew out his candles this year! This was the first time he could do it! Way to go Ryan!!

After we sang, Ryan held up 5 fingers for his new age...

I'm really glad to know that he had a great party and a great time! I love my Ryan! Happy Birthday!

Funny and Silly Week

This week for Ryan was Spring Break. Guess how I got to celebrate it? Bronchitis. It was wonderful, let me tell you. Troy went off to work everyday while I stayed home with the boys in the house. I tried to get as much sleep as possible. I tried laying down on the couch to close my eyes whenever I could. Ryan always comes up to me whenever he sees me laying down and says, "Momma, don't close your eyes. Get up." Benjamin was happy to lay down on the couch with me as long as the Backyardigans was on tv. That kid is addicted. Do you know how many episodes we have?? I can sing them all too. It's so wonderful being a mom.

This week, the boys picked up on how important naps are to me and so they found a cupboard in the kitchen that is emptied out now that we are trying to sell our house. They can both fit in there... with their pillows and blankets, might I add!

Benjamin originally found that cupboard convenient when he was sick awhile back to hide in there because he didn't want to take his medicine.

I also just have to include this picture of Benjamin smiling. This is what I see almost every minute of the day when I'm with Ben. It's really nice actually...

In our HOUSE news...

During the wonderful week that I've had Bronchitis, I've also had a ton of showings for the house. It's great news but I had to scramble around to clean the house up. There is a hopeful potential buyer that seems to want the house but we just have to keep our fingers crossed that it will work out. I'm sure that once an offer is made, I will post about it with all the sentimental crap about how I might be making a mistake by selling the house because I brought my 2 little baby boys home in this house and that now we need to stay here forever.

We will have to wait to see what the future holds for us...

Happy Easter Everyone!

There is a picture that my good friend took that pretty much sums up our Easter this morning...

Yep! We got about 2 or 3 inches of snow during the night. It quickly melted during the morning and by the evening, it was all gone. ( Sorry Jessica! I thought your picture was perfect and I just had to use it! )

We spend our Easter over at Troy's parents house. With the traditional Sunday ableskievers shown here, we watched the Sunday morning conference session.

Here's Benjamin during the closing prayer...

While we were watching conference, the boys were thirsty for something to drink and they found these cool straws that Grandma provided for them. They had fun!

After conference was over, I went outside to hide the Easter eggs for the boys to gather up. They were filled with those mini M&Ms. Mmmmmm...

I don't know why I didn't get any pictures of Ryan during his egg hunt. I took mostly videos of him finding them all. They both had a great time looking for all the eggs. They also got presents. Benjamin got a small basketball hoop with a little ball and Ryan got a bubble blower with bubbles. They were both pleased with their gifts! It was rewarding for me to see their reaction!

I am really blessed that I was able to listen to conference this weekend. Some of the things I learned was the fact that children are never too young to be taught the gospel and about Christ. That really made me feel like I need to repent and help the boys understand about Christ and the importance of His teachings. I am going to make a conscience effort to bring the gospel more into our home so the boys can feel the influence of the Spirit.

The other thing I felt during conference was the fact that our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are real and I felt their power. I felt how supreme they really are and how much they are aware of all of us. It's amazing of their power and might and all the things they are able to control but they still know who I am. That's amazing. I am very grateful for that.

Easter 2010... a week early

I just wanted to post some pictures of the boys a week before Easter. This year, Easter Sunday falls on General Conference weekend so we won't be dressing up this time for Easter Sunday.

Here are the pictures...
I sure do love these little boys. They are a lot to handle but they are sweet.

Calendars

Ryan is doing very well in his preschool class. This past year, Ryan has been fascinated and obsessed with calendars. He has a song he sings in school that includes all the months of the year. And he also knows all the days of the week. He has been learning to write and cut with scissors. Here is his calendar that we made at home today. He did pretty much all of it with a little help from me. Here's his creation...
If you click on the picture, you can see the calendar a little better. He wrote all the numbers except the number 7. He also wanted my help to write MARCH 2010. He then cut it out all by himself. He is very proud of his creation. We are too!
Here is Ryan... also included a picture Ryan took of himself. Crazy kid...

Benjamin is doing well also. He loves to be included with whatever Ryan is doing. He loves his big brother and he gets really excited everyday when Ryan comes home on the bus.

We are still trying to sell our home with no luck. Hopefully we will get a bite on it and start building our own home soon!

It's Official!
We are moving!

Troy and I have been very busy since the beginning of the year. We've been packing things up and moving them to a storage unit. I've been busy with cleaning the house and getting everything ready to show.

I've been so tired and many times after we put the boys down for bed at night, I just wanted to sit here and blog about it but we didn't want to say anything last month. Now, it's official. We need to move!

We have been thinking about moving to the Lehi area. There are some nice lots available for us to build a home. We just need a little more room. We have been thinking about expanding our family in the near future and we thought that maybe getting a new home would be a wise decision first.

Last month, after we made the decision about moving, I was pretty excited to get into a new and bigger home. But, of course, I was pretty sad about leaving this one. I brought my 2 brand new babies to this house. What about all the memories we've made? One thing is for sure... good thing for cameras and videos. Those are forever saved. Now we will be able to move on to bigger and better memories.

So, here's praying for someone to buy our wonderful home. Come on buyers!! We need someone to take this great place off our hands!

What? We're almost done with January?! When did that happen? I promise we're still here.

Troy and I have been busy with things for this new year and I have just neglected my poor blog. That is the last thing I want to do.

On the 18th, Troy and I were able to celebrate our 7th anniversary! I really can't believe that it's been 7 years already. Just 3 more years, and we'll be hitting our 10th!! Holy cow!

Ryan is enjoying school and he loves to play with Benjamin. I am so glad that I have those 2 little boys. They really do love each other. Benjamin is learning new things everyday. He loves to do anything Ryan is doing which does result in fighting over toys.

I really don't know what else to say at this point. We are hoping that this new year will be good to us!!
